Our hands are probably the most neglected part of our body and perhaps the most overworked. We need our hands to function everyday. From fine motor to large motor skills, we rely on our hands to do our work for us, be it writing a letter, or washing the dishes.
It is no surprise then that our hands may feel rough and dry to touch. We must not take our hands for granted. A little pampering can go a long, long way. Just a dab of hand lotion will keep the hands soft and moisturized.
Aloe vera has been used for the treatment of dry skin for thousands of years. According to ancient books Cleopatra used aloe vera lotion to protect her skin from the sun. The Egyptians also used aloe vera in the embalming of bodies. In the year Six B.C. the Greek Physician Dioscorides used aloe vera to treat a wide variety of medical ailments like constipation, kidney problems and burns to the skin.
