Named by Forbes magazine as one of the Southeast's "10 Most Dependable Wealth Managers," Mr. Abele boasts 24 years of professional experience in investments and financial services, with the last 20 of these years spent as principal of his own firm. An expert in managing and counseling on investments and creating portfolios, he has been advising high net-worth families for more than two decades. He is a strong advocate of the Modern Portfolio Theory, which focuses on creating portfolios based on their overall risk-reward characteristics instead of selecting securities for their individual risk-reward characteristics. Mr. Abele places emphasis on helping his clients pursue their financial goals by offering them objective financial advice and personalized service, in sharp contrast to the practice among many brokerage firms that are simply made up of "salesmen" looking for a quick sale, not necessarily their clients' best interests.
Previously, Mr. Abele honed his skills as an intern at Merrill Lynch and as an investment advisor at Howard Well, which made him, at the age of 22, that company's youngest-ever investment advisor. He considers discovering the Modern Portfolio Theory and being able to put it to use to benefit his clients to be the most gratifying aspect of his career, and attributes his success to his honesty and commitment to quality service.
In addition to his Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Alabama, Mr. Abele is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary through the Center for Fiduciary Studies at the University of Pittsburgh, a Certified Fund Specialist, and a Certified Estate Advisor. He is proud of his close association with the Chicago School of Business, where the Nobel Prize-winning Modern Portfolio Theory was developed. In his spare time, he volunteers with Episcopal soup kitchens and with prison fellowship ministries. His goals for the future include expanding his client base.
